The Sector West Commander, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Brigadier General Enrico Fontana has on Saturday 17 February, 2024, described Ghanaian troops serving in Southern Lebanon as the most motivated, proficient and efficient.

He exulted the Ghanaian soldiers when he paid a working visit to the UNIFIL Ghanbatt Headquarters UNP 5-66 as well as the various Ghanbatt positions at the mission area. The visit formed part of his inaugural tour to all battalions under Sector West.

He was welcomed by the Commanding Officer of UNIFIL GHANBATT 90, Lieutenant Colonel Frank Kwesi Agyeman and was briefed on the duties as well as the areas of responsibility of the GHANBATT.

In an interaction with troops of UNIFIL GHANBATT 90, Brig Gen Enrico Fantona revealed the recognition of the typical military mark of professionalism and motivation among troops of UNIFIL GHANBATT 90.

He also appreciated the GHANBATT for her dedication to maintaining peace along the blue line, as well as their continuous commitment to defending the right of civilians to live in peace and safeguarding Ghana's interests even at peril.

He commended the troops for their remarkable bravery and unwavering professionalism throughout the unpredictable period in Lebanon.
