Northern Command has commenced a 2-week orientation cadre for its newly commissioned Officers on Monday, 15 January 2024 at the Justice Opoku Hall, Kamina Barracks.

The cadre aims at acquainting the officers with basic military norms and traditions, and the conduct of operational activities within the Command.

On behalf of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Matthew Essien, the Command Operations Officer, Colonel (Col) Franklyn Worlanyo Agbebo officially welcomed the Officers to the Command.

He admonished them to take decisions for the success of the missions assigned to them since doing otherwise could have dire consequences to the missions as well as the lives entrusted to them. He also encouraged the participants to be abreast with the latest developments in military strategy, technology, and current affairs.

Col Agbebo further stated that the threat of terrorism in the Area of Operation was real and imminent. He, therefore, urged the Officers to be eager to learn and adapt easily to the lessons they would be exposed to during the cadre.

“As leader, seek the welfare of the men that would be entrusted to you, learn from them and show interest in the daily activities of their respective units”, he added.
