The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has on Tuesday 29 October 2024, donated relief items to soldiers whose personal belongings were destroyed in a fire outbreak at Uaddara Barracks, Kumasi. The relief items, which included mattresses, buckets, blankets, three packs of roofing sheets, eating bowls, water bottles, plastic tables, and cups, were presented at a short ceremony held at Headquarters Central Command, Idris Barracks. Mr Ernest Yaw Amoah, the Metro Director of NADMO at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), stated that the organisation was moved by the news and decided to assist the soldiers. Brigadier General Michael Kwadwo Opoku, General Officer Commanding Central Command, received the donation on behalf of the soldiers and expressed his appreciation to NADMO, encouraging the public to emulate such acts of kindness.
