The Infantry Fire Support Course 1-2024, organized by the Artillery Training School came to a successful end on Friday 3 May 2024 at the Artillery Training School in Akoefe, Volta Region.

The 8 weeks course had a capacity of 30 students drawn from the Southern Command trained on Gunnery of 107 MRL, Observer Skills, Arty Minor Tactics, Map Reading, Voice Procedure, First Aid among others to enable them individually perform tasks as Gunners and equip them with core skills required to operate within a 107mm Multiple Rocket Launcher (MRL) detachment.           

In a closing remark, the Guest of Honour, the Deputy Commander Army Training Command Colonel Godwin Yaw De-Souza, admonished the course participants to continue to build upon the foundations laid during the course.

He urged them to embrace the spirit of continuous learning, and always strive to improve their skills, and never lose sight of the importance of teamwork. He reminded them that the Southern Command would count on them to perform their duties as skilled and capable gunners.

Colonel De- Souza extended special commendations to Sergeant Teye Tetteh Simon, Corporal Agyapong Richard and Lance Corporal Nyonyo Harrison Kofi for emerging first, second, and third, respectively on the course. He indicated that they have all proven their mettle, and the Command stands proud of their accomplishments.

The Guest of Honour also extending his appreciation to the instructors and support staff who guided and mentored the participants throughout the course. He said their expertise, patience, and tireless dedication had been instrumental in shaping the participants into the elite gunners that they have become.

The closing ceremony was graced by the Commander Rear of 66 Artillery Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Jalali Din Ibrahim, the Commanding Officer of Artillery Training School, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Atuiri and personnel of the 7 Garrison.
