The Headquarters Northern Command has successfully conducted a six-day Final Field Training Exercise (FFTX), codenamed ‘Exercise Final Drive,’ for participants of the Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Tactical Course 1-2024 (BNTC 1-24).

The exercise, held in the Savelegu general area, Tamale, from 29 September to 4 October 2024, covered various tactical operations including Advance to Contact, Defence, Deliberate Day and Night Ambush, Raid operations, and Down Attack. It aimed to test the students' endurance in combat operations under adverse conditions while employing medium and heavy Infantry Platoon Weapons and Field Administration.

Additionally, the exercise focused on assessing the students' physical fitness, endurance, and command and control skills for platoon and section leadership in the field.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei, during his visit to the exercise area, expressed his satisfaction with the troops' dedication and the promising future he sees for each soldier.

He noted that the FFTX aligns with his vision of having well-trained, motivated, and well-equipped troops from the various units in the Northern Sector to meet the tasks of the Armed Forces.

Brig Gen Tei commended the soldiers for completing this vital part of their career training and praised the instructors for their commitment. He added that the experience gained during the exercise would enhance the readiness and effectiveness of the troops in their future roles within the Ghana Armed Forces.
