The Under-Secretary-General of United Nations Department of Peace Operations (UN DPO), Mr Jean- Pierre Lacroix has commended the Ghanaian Contingent serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for their unwavering dedication to duty. He recognized the sacrifices made by the peacekeepers in maintaining stability in their area of responsibility amidst regional challenges when he paid a five-day working visit to the contingent which begun on Friday 12 January 2024. The visit forms part of his visit to peacekeeping missions in the Middle East, came at a time when there was conflict between Lebanon and Israel along the blue line. Mr Jean-Pierre LaCroix was accompanied by the Force Commander, Lt General Aroldo Lazaro Saenz.
