The Ghana Armed Forces has officially welcomed the troops of Ghana Battalion 11 on Wednesday 9 October 2024, following the successful completion of their mission with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan.

The Mission Accomplishment Parade, held at the 5 Infantry Battalion Parade Square in Burma Camp, marked the end of the Unit’s duty tour.

On behalf of the Military High Command, the Reviewing Officer, Deputy Chief Staff Officer, Operations and Training at the Army Headquarters (DCSO OPS&TRG), Brigadier General Kweku Dankwa Hagan, congratulated the battalion for a successful mission and urged them to take pride in their achievements.

Brigadier General Hagan acknowledged the battalion’s exceptional operational performance, including their humanitarian support, which strengthened their relationship with the Defence Forces of South Sudan. He also informed the troops of upcoming internal operations and encouraged them to remain prepared for future assignments, while cautioning against misconduct during deployments.

 Additionally, Brigadier General Hagan advised the troops to exercise financial prudence, avoid unnecessary spending, and be wary of Ponzi schemes.
