A former Deputy Chief of Air Staff in Germany, Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Dr Ansgar Ricks (Rtd) has led students of the German Capstone Course to the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama on Monday, 27 November 2023, Burma Camp.The educational visit was to deepen understanding across socio-political, economic, and security domains, ultimately fortifying the longstanding bilateral relationship between Ghana and Germany.Lt Gen Dr Riecks (Rtd), emphasized the need for a more concerted collaborative approach, urging exploration into further realms of intelligence gathering, capacity enhancement, and logistical support.He added that the visit does not only signify an exchange of knowledge and experiences but also cements a robust foundation for mutual growth and security between Ghana and Germany. Vice Admiral Amoama, while expressing gratitude to the team for selecting Ghana as their educational focal point, appreciated the German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG) for their unwavering support in the area of capacity building, technological advancements, and logistical aid.He noted that the establishment of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) and the modernization of facilities at the Engineering and Signal Training Schools amongst others are testaments to the enduring partnership between the two entities.
