GAFCSC HOLDS RELIGIOUS SERVICE AHEAD OF GRADUATION CEREMONY

As part of preparations towards the upcoming graduation ceremony of the Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC45) and the Master of Science in Defence and International Politics (MDIP) a religious graduation service has been held by the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) at Hamidu Hall in Teshie on Sunday 18 August 2024.

Colonel (Col) John Kwamina Otoo (Rtd) a member of the National Peace Council delivered a sermon themed: "To Whom Much is Given, Much is Expected" (Luke 12:48). He therefore emphasised the vital role of obedience and trust in responding to God's call, adding that it is through obedience that one can truly fulfil the divine mandate of the Almighty God. Col Otoo encouraged the students to demonstrate good leadership skills to meet the expectations of the commands in which they would serve.

The Guest of Honour, former Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Maxwell Manstebi-Tei Nagai (Rtd) in his remarks, commended the students and staff of the college for their dedication, noting that the students had been thoroughly equipped with the knowledge required to excel both locally and internationally. He urged them to be worthy ambassadors by exhibiting exemplary leadership and maintaining high standards in the future.

AVM Maxwell Manstebi-Tei Nagai (Rtd), also charged all to develop exceptional communication skills and a comprehensive understanding of the military and global affairs. He emphasised the importance of cooperation between the military and civil authorities, which he stated was crucial for effective governance and security.

Awards were presented to some outstanding students of the MDIP Class of 2024. Mr Nuhu Alhassan Dicko secured the second position for Overall Best Student while Ms Alhassan Rabiatu Abisola acquired the third position, while Mr Yaw Duodo and Mr Michael Kaamo Ayaim were recognised for their exceptional dissertations.
