The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has launched a Family Pension Application (App) to streamline and simplify the complex pension process that military widows and retired personnel go through in realizing their benefits.The App, which was launched in Burma Camp on Thursday, 21 December 2023, would bridge the gap between the Ghana Armed Forces Pension House, Controller and Accountant General, and GAF retired personnel as well as their families.Guest of Honour for the occasion, the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, expressed his delight in the App. He was optimistic that the development of the App would reduce the long processing pension claims for military widows and retired personnel of GAF. He underscored that previous Chiefs of Staff (COS) have laid the foundation to the development of the App and lauded the Director, GAF Pension House, Colonel Edem Tay, for working diligently to transform the facility for an autonomous operation.Col Edem Tay expressed gratitude to the Military High Command, Financial Comptroller, Executive Director of Veteran Association, and various stakeholders for their interest and practical steps in achieving the goal. Corporate leaders, including the Managing Director of Kingdom Books and Stationery, Peter Gyateng and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tucana, Mr Granville Amedome were awarded for their efforts in renovating and enhancing the Pension Office.
