The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Commodore Samuel Ayelazono, has donated a brand-new laptop computer to the 2 Garrison Public Relations (PR) Detachment on Friday, August 28 2025 to enhance its operational efficiency.

In his remarks, the FOC underscored the role the Public Relations Detachment plays in projecting the image of the Ghana Navy and the Ghana Armed Forces at large. He explained that effective PR requires not only dedicated personnel but also the right tools and resources to deliver timely and accurate information to both internal and external audiences.

Commodore Ayelazono commended the PR Detachment for their professionalism and consistency in covering naval and garrison activities. He urged the team to make good use of the equipment to further enhance information management, documentation and the dissemination of credible news from the Command.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Detachment, the Garrison PRO, Mr Enoch Opata, expressed profound gratitude to FOC for the timely support. He assured the Command that the laptop would be put to judicious use to improve reportage, archiving, and the production of the garrison’s activities.

The gesture forms part of the commitment of FOC to strengthening communication systems within the Command while motivating personnel to uphold the Navy’s core values of loyalty, professionalism and teamwork.
