ETS, STU HOLD MAIDEN MATRICULATION

Ghana Armed Forces Engineer Training School holds matriculation for Bachelor of Technology 2023/24 academic year group

The Engineer Training School (ETS) in conjunction with Sunyani Technical University (STU) have held matriculation ceremony for the first batch of student for Bachelor of Technology.

The ceremony which took place at the Engineer Training School on Friday 26 April 2024, ushered 96 fresh students into three Bachelor of Technology programmes.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor of the Sunyani Technical University, Ing Prof Kojo Adinkrah Appiah said the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ghana Armed Forces Engineer Training School to collaborate, develop and roll out academic programmes, undertake joint research and training seminars.

He noted that the partnership has culminated in the rolling out of three Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) programmes at ETS including B Tech Building Technology, B Tech Electrical and Electronic Engineering and B Tech Wood Technology.

‘’I must state at this juncture that the Management of Sunyani Technical University is quite satisfied with this positive development so far and hence promise to double up our efforts to ensure continuous growth of this partnership’’, he added.

He urged the students to exhibit a high sense of purpose and diligence in pursuing their academic career since it would help them achieve the required skill set and competence to make them successful in their fields of studies.

The Commandant Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Rear Admiral Eric Adu commended the Commanding Officer of ETS Lieutenant Colonel Quartey and his predecessors for working tirelessly in making the partnership a reality.

He noted that knowledge and skills acquisition would continue to be central to high command’s effort towards uplifting the professional image of the Ghana Armed Forces.

He was confident the course would help students attain the highest standards of academic and practical competence required for them to excel in their chosen field of studies.

Dignitaries present at the ceremony were the Deputy Commandant TRADOC Commodore Moddey Prosper, Assistant Commandant Research and Doctrine (ASCOM R&D) Brigadier General Baidoo Acheampong, Director of Engineering Services Colonel Wiafe, senior officers and lecturers from the Sunyani Technical University.
