The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Tema has named streets in the Biekro Barracks after some retired Coxswains on Wednesday 13 November 2024.Among those honoured were Ex-Master Chief Petty Officer (Ex-MCPO) Dzorvakpor Patrick, Ex-MCPO Homatekpor Thaddeus, Ex-MCPO Abotsi Moses Kodzo, Ex-MCPO Mishiame Gilbert Komla, Ex-MCPO Addo Quaye Daniel, and Ex-Fleet Chief Petty Officer (Ex-FCPO) Quaye William. Speaking at the ceremony, the Guest of Honour, Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Maxwell Arhen, commended Master Coxswain, Master Chief Petty Officer (MCPO) Kpormego, for initiating the naming of streets within Biekro Barracks to enhance identification. He emphasised the importance of recognising the retired Coxswains for their exemplary contributions, noting that their dedication, leadership, and service to the Navy have shaped the institution and continue to inspire others. Commodore Arhen acknowledged senior ratings as the backbone of the Navy, bridging the gap between higher command and tactical operations.Commodore Arhen added that naming streets after these distinguished retired Coxswains reflects their collective spirit of excellence and dedication to the nation, as they have set a standard that resonates throughout the Navy. He urged Navy personnel to remain proactive, taking inspiration from the honoured Coxswains, and encouraged them to embody the values of integrity, excellence, and commitment in their duties.
