The Combat Team Commander’s Course (CTCC) 2-24 from the Army Combat Training School, led by the course Commander Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Joshua Adongo, has visited the 1 Infantry Battalion (1BN) for a demonstration of "Battalion Headquarters on the Field" on Friday 5 July, 2024.

The Commander Rear 1BN, Lt Col Frank Adams emphasised that the Battalion Headquarters (HQ) as the nerve centre for addressing potential and actual security threats to the nation. He emphasised that the exercise aims to enhance the readiness of the Headquarters in responding to and mitigating attacks.

He added that, the purpose of the demonstration was to provide the students with valuable insight into the operational layout of the Battalion HQ in the field.

During the visit, the students were exposed to operational aspects of the Battalion HQ in the field, covering key principles such as types of command posts, battalion appointments, layout, principles, and tactical considerations. Additionally, there was weapon display to provide practical insight into the equipment usage.

The students also toured the Battalion deployment sites and were exposed to realistic combat scenarios to enable them experience and adapt to the unpredictability and challenges they might face in real battle.
