COL SHEHU ENDS TENURE AS DA

The outgoing Nigerian Defence Attaché to Ghana, Colonel (Col) Mukhtar Shehu has Wednesday, 17 January 2024 officially informed the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama of the end of his tenure of office.

He thanked the CDS for his support which has resulted in strengthening the bilateral relations between both countries. He indicated that his tenure of office has been a memorable one due to the mentorship he received from the CDS expressing his desire to return to Ghana anytime.

Col Shehu also expressed gratitude to the CDS for paving the way for a total of forty-one (41) Nigerian Army officers to participate in courses at Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC).

The CDS, congratulated Col Shehu on completing his term of office and wished him well in his future endeavors. He noted that Ghana and Nigeria have maintained good military relations and have worked closely to combat piracy, drug trafficking, and illegal fishing activities in the Gulf of Guinea.

Vice Admiral Amoama described Ghana and Nigeria as key players in the Accra Initiative, aimed at eliminating terrorist activities in the West African Region.
