The Chief of Choggu, Mahamudu Alhassan has paid a courtesy call on the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Worlanyo Agbebo at his office in Tamale on Wednesday, 27 August 2025 The visit was to officially welcome GOC to Tamale following his assumption of office. Choggu Naa commended the military for its role in maintaining peace and stability in the region and expressed appreciation on behalf of the traditional authorities. He further called for collaboration between the military and traditional leaders to consolidate peace and unity. The Chief wished Brigadier General Agbebo in all his endeavours. In his remarks, GOC expressed gratitude to the Chief and his entourage for the visit and their show of support. He assured them of the continued commitment of the military to safeguarding peace and security in the region. Brigadier General Agbebo, however, expressed concern over the spate of violent incidents in some parts of the Command and appealed to the Chief to use his influence to encourage his subjects, particularly the youth, to adopt dialogue in resolving disputes rather than resorting to violence.
