Central Command holds third quarter religious parade and inducts GOC into office

4 Garrison Chaplaincy has inducted the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Central Command, Brigadier General Michael Kwadwo Opoku into office on Sunday, 14 July 2024.

The induction service was held at the St Christopher Catholic Church at the Uaddara Barracks in Kumasi under the theme "Sent On A Mission By God" during the third quarter religious parade of the Command.

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, Most Reverend Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye and the Garrison Imam, Captain Mohammed Yussif, sought the protection of God Almighty for the GOC  and prayed for his success. They also thanked God for His mercies upon the life of GOC and urged him trust and obey God at all times.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Attachy Group of Companies, Mr Kwame Acheampong who was the Guest of Honour, praised GOC for his exemplary leadership and appreciated him for the construction of a thirty-unit accommodation as well as other interventions for personnel at the Headquarters.

He also reminded personnel of the 2024 general elections emphasizing their role in supporting civil authority to ensuring a free and fair election. He advised personnel to remain neutral in the performance of their duties before, during, and after the elections.

The GOC in his remarks thanked all and appealed to personnel to collaborate with him by ensuring that the Central Command area of responsibility is safe for the citizenry to go about their normal duties.

The ceremony was attended by some members of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (REGSEC), The Director, Army Religious Affairs, Col PNK Duodu, Senior Officers of the Command, The Clergy, Friends of the Command, Soldiers and Family members as well as invited guests.
