The award, presented by President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, recognises the extraordinary contributions and resilience of GAF during the COVID-19 pandemic. The prestigious award underscores commitment of GAF in serving the country, particularly during times of crisis. The recognition defines a testament of bravery, sacrifice and selflessness of GAF personnel who worked tirelessly to protect the nation and its citizens. The Presidential Honours and Awards for distinguished service aim to celebrate individuals and institutions that have demonstrated remarkable dedication and service to the nation. The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah has received the 2024 National Honours Award on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on Monday 30 December 2024 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
