Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah has assured the leadership of Ghana Police and Prison Services of enhance collaboration when he visited their respective Headquarters on Monday18 March, 2024.The CDS affirmed the commitment of the Ghana Armed Forces to strengthen existing relationship with both institutions. He noted that teamwork was imperative in the delivery of their common mandate. Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah said the Armed Forces has a longstanding relationship with the civil security services and express his commitment to deepen the bond established by his forebears, adding that commanders need to build these relationships to enable them deal with the asymmetric threat that face the country. He also assured, the security services that the military would be readily available to assist in their operations, emphasizing that the security services play key roles for national stability.The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akufo Dampare, thanked the CDS for the visit and the invaluable assistance the Ghana Police continues to benefits from the Armed Forces. At the Headquarters of the Ghana Prisons Service, the Director-General of Prisons, Mr Isaac Kofi Egyir stated that the GAF was a reliable partner in ensuring peace and security in the country. He therefore urged all to work closely with the Armed Forces for a better and safer Ghana.
