Ratings of Basic Naval Training 67 (BT 67) have extended their benevolence to families of comrades who paid the ultimate prize serving the country. Described as unprecedented historical stride that would transcend time, the thoughtful gesture emphasizes the determination of BT 67 to put smiles on the faces of the families of fallen heroes and heroine within the intake. The Group has indeed made a strong statement to wit the fallen heroes and heroine may have transitioned to eternity, but certainly not forgotten. The event was climaxed with luncheon and prayer for the deceased ratings and their families. The charity donations organised on Saturday 30 March, 2024, at the Senior Rates Mess, adjacent the Naval Wardroom in Accra, was borne out of tenacity with emphasis on bringing back hope and keeping dreams alive. It also underscores the extent to which the BT upheld the tenets of esprit de corps and military values inculcated as part of their training and career development.
Out of the milk of human kindness, the families were given substantial amount of money for their upkeep. Their grievances some which include a Socutt parcel of land which has become subject of litigation, difficulty in acquiring wives’ identity cards to ease their challenges at the military infirmaries among others were reported.
