The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe, has commissioned the Warrant Officers (WOs) and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) Mess at the Air Force Barracks, Burma Camp, on Tuesday 1 October 2024.AVM Bekoe emphasised the crucial role of WOs and SNCOs in the Ghana Air Force, highlighting their leadership and mentorship responsibilities. He stated that the facility serves as a testament to the commitment to providing a conducive environment for personnel, symbolising appreciation for the service and dedication of WOs and SNCOs. He added that renovating the facility had been one of his priorities upon assuming office.AVM Bekoe expressed his gratitude to key individuals who played significant roles in the construction of the Mess. Among them were Air Commodore Christopher Nii Armah Mills, Squadron Leader Ivy Naa Ayorko Tetteh from the Directorate of Engineering Services, and Mr. Kwasi Amoo Siriboe, CEO of Paragon Homes Limited. The Chief of the Defence Staff, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, attended the event and made a generous donation of Five Thousand Cedis (GH¢5000) to the Mess. The Base Commander, Air Force Base Accra, Air Commodore Eric Agyen-Frempong, expressed his appreciation for the support received in bringing the project to completion. He stated that the facility would help strengthen the bond among personnel and promote teamwork within the ranks.The ceremony also featured the unveiling of new instruments for the Silver Wings Band, to enhance musical performance during official events.
