The Army Combat Training School (ACTS) has conducted a 5-day Field Training Exercise (FTX) codenamed Ex-Final Drive at Asutsuare in the Greater Accra Region from 20-26 April, 2024.

The exercise has been designed to practice as well as test students in the practical handling of Battle Group and sub-units operating in conventional war setting. It assessed proficiency of students in leadership, physical endurance, troop administration in field conditions, and the application of strategic planning and orders deployment.

The Commander ACTS, Colonel Robert Narh emphasized the importance of FTX and commended the instructors for their dedication. He also praised the students for successfully completing the integral aspect of the training course.

Colonel Narh added that the exercise did not only provide a platform for practical application of skills but also served as a testament to the commitment of Ghana Armed Forces in ensuring the preparedness of its personnel to safeguard the territorial integrity of the nation.

Students were drawn from various courses such as Combat Team Commanders’ Course (CTCC) 1-24, Young Officers’ Course (YOC) 1-24, Advanced NCOs Tactical Course (ANTC), Advance Medium Machine Gun (AMMGC), Advance Infantry Platoon Weapons Course (AIPWC) and Advance Mortar Course (AMC).
