80 PERSONNEL GRADUATE FROM CATERING TRAINING SCHOOL

The Ghana Armed Forces Catering Training School gradates 56 females and 24 males

Eighty (80) personnel drawn from the three arms of service have graduated from the Caterers/Waiters BII Course 29 at the Ghana Armed Forces Catering Training School, Whistler Barracks in Teshie, on Tuesday 27 August 2024.

The eleven (11) weeks course provided students with essential knowledge through both theoretical and practical cookery training. In all 56 females and 24 males graduated.

Speaking on behalf of the Commandant Training and Doctrine (TRADOC), Rear Admiral Eric Adu, the Commanding Officer (CO) of TRADOC, Lieutenant Colonel Kingsley Birikorang, congratulated the students for their tenacity and discipline that enabled them to complete the course. He commended them for the high level of discipline exhibited throughout their training.

“It is only through practice that you can achieve mastery of your skills. I encourage you to cultivate the habit of continuous professional development and self-improvement,” he noted.

He praised the award winners for their extra effort, which led to their recognition, and advised them to continue developing the skills they acquired during the course.

The Acting Officer Commanding (OC) of the Armed Forces Catering School, Lieutenant (GN) Maxwell Oduro Anakwa, in his closing remarks challenged the students to be industrious in their chosen field both within the service and beyond.

He highlighted that the positive assimilation of the course material was evident during the students’ exhibition of practical cookery sessions.

Awards were presented to students who distinguished themselves throughout the course. Private Korankye Portia emerged as the overall best student, while Lance Corporal Adofo Oti Michael received the Most Disciplined and Hardworking Student Award. Able Seaman Class II Ayiku Rebecca and Able Seaman II Armarh Phoebe Amorkor secured the second and third positions, respectively.
