A total of 55 Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) trainees have successfully passed out after completing a seven-week intensive training at 1 Infantry Battalion (1BN) Michel Camp on Thursday, December 19, 2024.The training programme which covered physical training, swimming, access control, search operations, report writing and checkpoint duty procedures was designed to adequately equip the trainees with the necessary expertise in security operations as well as roles in ensuring the safety of lives and property at the seaports.Addressing the parade, the Reviewing Officer, General Manager of Administration for GPHA Tema, Mr Kwabena Adu Safo, urged the trainees to demonstrate allegiance to right principles while adhering to the Authority’s Code of Conduct. He revealed that the trainees would be assigned to serve in various roles, having successfully undergone the training and encouraged them to serve with honour, dignity, courage and integrity. Mr Adu Safo also expressed appreciation to the Ghana Armed Forces for their collaboration and commitment to training security personnel for GPHA.Awards were presented to deserving trainees. Trainee Elizabeth Bosco won the Overall Best Award, the Best Female Trainee, and the Best in Drill. Trainee Ayekum Joseph was awarded Best in Academics, while Trainee Kubakwana Mamuda Onass was adjudged Best in Physical Training.
