The 4 Garrison Education Centre in Kumasi has held awards ceremony at the 4 Garrison Officers' Mess in Danyame to honour its teaching staff on Wednesday 18 December 2024.The event recognized and honoured the exceptional efforts of teachers for their crucial roles in shaping the hearts and minds of students, guiding them toward a brighter future.As part of the awards presented in order of merit to the deserving recipients, the Best Soldier award went to L/Cpl Abogaye Kingsley, the Best Civilian Staff award went to Mr Ampaw Yaw. The Overall Best KG Teacher award went to Madam Ivy Agyapong. Madam Dorothy Naa Korkor of 4BN Junior High School received the Overall Best Teacher award in the Junior High School Category. A citation was presented to Mr Richard Kwadowo Adomako, who was the first runner-up in the recent Ghana Teachers Awards held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).In his welcome remarks, Garrison Education Officer Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Robert Laryea Okoley expressed heartfelt gratitude to all teachers for their unwavering dedication. He noted that the school’s impressive achievement of 100% pass rate in the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) was a testament to their dedication.Lt Col Okoley praised the teachers, describing them as the driving force behind the success of the 4 Garrison Education Centre and the foundation upon which the school community was established. He emphasised that their selfless contributions to education align with the vision of creating a community where all school-aged children feel loved, respected, motivated, and encouraged to reach their full potential.He also expressed special appreciation to the old students and all stakeholders for their generous donations and ongoing support for the growth of the school, appealing to other benevolent organisations to assist in addressing the challenges of the school. The Guest of Honour for the ceremony, Mr Kwame Owusu Kwarteng, a senior lecturer in the Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems at the School of Business, KNUST, thanked the staff for their efforts in shaping the minds of the young ones entrusted to their care.
