2 GARRISON OBSERVES 79th REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE

The 2 Garrison and other security agencies in the Western Region have observed the 79th Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph, Harbour view Takoradi.

The ceremony witnessed the reading of Biyon Verse and laying of wreaths to honour the World War veterans for the sacrifices in pursuit of global peace.  

The Guest of Honour the Western Regional Minister, Hon Dr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah laid the first wreath on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana. 2 Garrison Commander, Commodore Emmanuel Ayesu Kwafo laid the second wreath on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces while Deputy Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr Francis Kwame Tsidi laid a wreath on behalf of Other Security Services. A representative of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Madam Grace Frimpong laid the fourth wreath on behalf of Chiefs and People of Western Region. Western Regional Chairman of VAG, Group Captain Seth Kwaku Fianya and a survivor of World War II, Bombardier Francis Nokoe laid the fifth and sixth wreaths respectively.
