The First Infantry Battalion (1BN) at Michel Camp has organised a fun-filled event for its personnel on Wednesday, 18 December 2024.

The event which aimed to foster camaraderie featured football, volleyball and handball competitions between Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) and Commissioned Officers of the Unit.

In an address, the Commanding Officer (CO) of 1BN, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Frank Adams, emphasised that the annual games play a crucial role in enhancing interpersonal relationships among officers and soldiers.

He noted that such initiatives help to alleviate work-related stress and significantly contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Lt Col Adams also commended the professionalism demonstrated by all ranks during the recent general elections, which he said contributed to Ghana’s image as a beacon of hope in Africa.

Furthermore, he applauded the enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed by the personnel, highlighting that the event prioritized collective esprit de corps over individual accolades.

He encouraged personnel to sustain the team-oriented spirit into the coming year, stressing its importance in achieving operational efficiency and improving both the work environment and overall job satisfaction.
