The Northern Command, as part of efforts to protect its territorial borders, has conducted patrols along the Ghana-Burkina Faso Border on Wednesday, 1 September 2025. The patrol which the covered area of operational responsibility of the 11 and 12 Mechanised Battalions was to deter terrorist infiltration, monitor civilian activities along the border and identify possible sleeper cells and base camps of terrorists. The General Officer Commanding Northern Command, Brigadier General Worlanyo Agbebo, in an interaction with some residents of Bongo and Soe in the Upper East Region, urged the locals to monitor and report any infiltration of unfamiliar persons and activities in the area to their traditional authorities. He also assured them that the Ghana Armed Forces will continue to maintain its robust surveillance and combat patrols along its borders to prevent any terrorist infiltration. Brigadier General Agbebo acknowledged the presence of the patrol team, indicating their readiness to stability and urged the residents to support the military by providing accurate information to help maintain security in the border region.
