As part of this year’s graduation activities, the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has held a joint religious parade for graduands of the Senior Command and Staff Course 46, Master of Science in Defence and International Politics (MDIP) and Master of Science in Security Studies at the Hamidu Hall on Sunday, 17 August 2025.

The Guest of Honour for the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dr Samuel Amo Tobbin commended the Acting Commandant, Brigadier General Jackson Wonje for placing spiritual reflection at the heart of graduation activities. He described the parade as a moment of gratitude to God for His guidance throughout the rigorous academic journey.

Dr Tobbin reminded graduands that leadership goes beyond tactical and academic expertise. Rather, he intimated that leadership encompassed faith, character and service. He also emphasised that true greatness is not measured by salutes, but by selfless and compassionate service. As a result, he advised participants of the course to lead with wisdom and respect as they serve on local and international missions.

The Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Ebenezer Arthur who spoke on the theme, “Called to Make a Difference”, described military service as a vocation of sacrifice and devotion rather than material gain. He urged graduands to uphold standards, demonstrate professionalism, foster teamwork and lead with accountability, adding that colleagues should be regarded as partners rather than subordinates.

Delivering the Islamic sermon, Imam Lieutenant (GN) Mohammed Misbahu Saeed urged the graduands to live as moral leaders whose example inspires others. He stressed that leadership should be rooted in responsibility rather than status and encouraged Officers to apply their knowledge to correct past mistakes and positively impact the religious, social and economic lives of those they lead.
