The Air Force Training Command (AFTRAC) has commenced Exercise Eagle Call for Flight Cadets of Regular Career Course 63 (RCC 63) on Thursday 10 October 2024.

The 7-week exercise aims to develop their ability to integrate relevant air operations into friendly land and maritime operations, with particular emphasis on helicopter operations.

The training will also equip the Cadets with knowledge in ground and aerial communication, operations room and centre routines, and introduce them to air transport operations. Additionally, it will provide practical experience in the construction of helipads, vectoring, and marshalling.

The Commander of Air Force Base, Tamale, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-Larkai, stated that Exercise Eagle Call was conceived to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practice. He mentioned that the exercise would allow the Cadets to understand how the role of the Air Force fits into the overall concept of the Ghana Armed Forces and the integration of air power in land and maritime operations.

The Commander of Air Force Training Command, Air Commodore Mathias Awuah, assured the Cadets of the Command’s preparedness to host and ensure the exercise objectives are met. He reminded them that the path they had chosen would be challenging but rewarding in unimaginable ways, urging them to remain disciplined and strive for excellence.
