The Army Combat Training School (ACTS) has held a graduation ceremony for the Advanced Drill and Duties Course 1-25 at Adiko Square, Whistler Barracks in Teshie, on Friday 1 August 2025. The 12-week course was designed to instil leadership skills in participants to effectively administer a company-sized force and assist in administration. It also aimed to enhance their skill in drill, build confidence, promote responsibility, accountability, and attention to detail. Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Commandant of the Ghana Military Academy, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Edward Awaribey, commended the graduands for their excellent drill performance and discipline. He also lauded the commitment of the training team led by Lieutenant Colonel Francis Ampofi, and underscored the significance of drill, discipline, and leadership in security roles. Brig Gen Awaribey reminded the graduands of their responsibilities as qualified drill instructors, urging them to uphold professionalism, lead by example and support their units effectively. He emphasised the pivotal role of Senior Non-Commissioned Officers as they serve as a link between Commissioned Officers and Junior ranks, encouraging them to offer constructive solutions to challenges within their units. He further urged them to embrace their leadership roles by ensuring the high standards achieved during the training, as it would shape the culture and effectiveness of their respective services. Out of a total of 68 personnel that participated in the course, 43 were drawn from the Ghana Army, 8 from the Ghana Navy, 1 from the Ghana Air Force, 6 from Ghana Police Service, 6 from the Ghana Immigration Service and 2 personnel each from the Security and Fire and Safety Department of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.
