The Ghana Armed Forces Central Band (AFBC) has lived up to its billing of excellence by putting up spectacular performances during the maiden Services Band Show organized by 7DS Ghana Television from Sunday 3 September to Sunday 17 December, 2023. As a result, the Chief Executive Officer of 7DS Ghana Television, Apostle Philemon Agyemang awarded AFBC on Wednesday, 20 December 2023. He said the Unit was chosen to receive the award based on public votes derived from the ecstasy of the show. He presented Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Cedis (GH₵350,000) worth of musical instruments to the Unit. The instruments comprise 2 pairs of sub speakers, 3-line array speakers, set of drums, 2 keyboards, 5 microphone stands, a 32 channel mixer, and a set of drum microphone. The other instruments were 3 power amplifiers, 3 monitors, bass guitar, combo, lead combo, and a lead guitar. The instruments would enable the Band play standard music at all times during State functions, military ceremonies and other functions. The Acting Director AFCB, Colonel Mathew Asuka, on receiving the items on behalf of the Band, expressed gratitude to Apostle Agyemang for the kind gesture and assured him that the instruments would be put to good use.
