31 January 2019. Group Captain (Gp Capt) Joshua Mensah-Larkai has assumed command as the Acting Commander Air Force Base-Accra, during a handing and taking over ceremony at the Accra Air Force Base on Thursday 31 January 2019.
The outgoing Base Commander, Air Vice Marshal FA Bekoe expressed his gratitude to Officers, Air men and women as well as Civilian Employees of the Base for their support during his tenure of office stressing that despite the challenges faced, he has been able to chalk a lot of successes.
“I am humbled to have served as your Base Commander in maintaining airpower effectively and efficiently in an enabling environment and I am proud we have done it together,” he stated.
AVM Bekoe who takes up a new appointment as the Air Officer, Special Duties at the Jubilee House was succeeded by Group Captain Joshua Mensah-Larkai in an acting capacity.
The Acting Base Commander, Group Captain (Gp Capt) Joshua Mensah-Larkai commended the Military High Command for the new appointment and promised not to relent but rather continue to improve upon the achievements of his predecessors.
The ceremony was preceded by the signing and handing over of the Staff of Command to the new Base Commander at his office at the Base Headquarters.
Gp Capt Larkai was the Director Validation, Standardisation and Inspection at the Air Force Headquarters before his appointment as the Base Commander.
