Kenyan High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Eliphas Barrine paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong Peprah on Thursday 25 April, 2024, at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp.

The High Commissioner congratulated the CDS on his appointment and presented a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to him in line with their new partnership agreement. He added that the MOU which covers areas including joint training and peace support operations among others would enhance efforts in dealing with security challenges on the continent.

The CDS in receiving the MOU, thanked the High Commissioner for his visit, emphasizing that, it was a significant milestone in the cooperation between the two countries. He acknowledged that, both countries have had beneficial collaboration through exchange programs, therefore, the MOU when fully implemented, would further serve their mutual interests.

The CDS also took the opportunity to commiserate with the High Commissioner and the people of Kenya for the passing of their Chief of Defence Forces, General Francis Ogolla.
