I salute you all my beloved Muslim brothers and sisters on this auspicious day of Eid-ul-Adha celebration. This festivity is a reminder of the selflessness and humility demonstrated by Prophet Abraham (AS), when he willingly obeyed Allah by accepting to sacrifice his only son. The teachings of this significant ritual should never be lost among us as trained soldiers who have made a pledge of dedicated service to our country. On this festive occasion, I extend my best salutations to you all (my Muslim comrade Officers, men, women and civilian employees and your families.
On this special Adha celebration, I consider it very essential to draw your attention to this fact, as Muslims in uniform, that the spiritual onus lies on you to continue to sustain the virtues of Prophet Abraham (AS). I further implore you to remain loyal to the Military High Command and the nation and to note that as professionals, Allah appreciates your personal sacrifices and your pledge to protect the nation even at the peril of your lives. The display of your readiness to make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and to promote peace, stability and security is appreciated. I congratulate you all.
As you all join the global Muslim community to celebrate this day, remember to show gratitude to Allah the creator of the Heavens and the Earth for bestowing peace and granting co-existence among us as Ghanaians.
You are encouraged to pay rapt attention to today’s sermon on the Theme “Whoever cheats us is not one of us”. Let us allow exhortations from various places of worship reform and amend our conduct to live and love one another as professionals in this lovely country.
As you gather in mosques all over Military Garrisons, I entreat you to pray for all departed colleagues and compatriots. Remember also to pray for our comrades on peacekeeping operations all over the world and their contributions towards international peace and security.
