CDS Signs Book of Condolence

5 July 2018.   The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Obed Boamah Akwa has signed the Book of Condolence opened by the State in memory of the Late Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur on Thursday, 5 July, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The Late Amissah-Arthur reportedly collapsed at the Ghana Air Force Officers Mess Gymnasium in the early hours of Friday, 29 June 2018 and was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He was a Ghanaian Economist and politician who served as the fifth Vice-President of 4th Republic from Monday, 06 August, 2012 to Saturday, 07 January, 2017, under President John Dramani Mahama.

The CDS was accompanied by the Chief of Staff (COS) Rear Admiral Beick-Baffour, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Major General William Azure Ayamdo, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Peter Kofi Faidoo, Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Mantsebi-Tei Nagai, CWO Raymond Bucker and other Senior Officers.
