18 June 2018. The President of the Republic of Ghana and the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has witnessed the 27th Guard Changing Ceremony on Monday, 18 June 2018 at Jubilee House in Accra.
The ceremony which is held quarterly saw the Ghana Air Force take over from the Ghana Navy. This is done to ensure the alertness and readiness of troops at all times, ensure availability and serviceability of all equipment, assess the strength of soldiers for duty as well as strengthen the unity and spirit de corps among troops.
The ceremony was climaxed with a spectacular display of military drill from Air Force guards with music from the Band.
The Vice President and Chairman of the Armed Forces Council Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Ministers of State, Senior Officers and school children from selected institutions were present to grace the occasion.
