The Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah has graced the medal presentation parade of Ghana Battalion 90 serving the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon on Friday 24 May, 2024.

 The spectacular parade was held at the Kofi Annan Square under the command of Major Nii Sowah Roudolf. The parade was formed by a total of 88 personnel.

 

Reviewing Officer for the parade, the Sector West Commander, Brigadier General Enrico Fontana in his address commended Ghana Battalion 90 for their exceptional professionalism, hard work and discipline which enabled them to fulfil the mandate of the mission.

 Brigadier General Fontana again acknowledged the GHANBATT for exhibiting perseverance and mental toughness when they endured relentless shelling from both sides of the Blue Line resulting in injuries and destruction of Contingent Owned Equipment.

He stated how privileged he was to have presented well- deserved medals to the battalion symbolizing his deepest appreciation for the unwavering commitment and sacrifice to peace in Southern Lebanon.
