Spanish Navy Ship Furor visits Western Naval Command

The Spanish Ambassador to Ghana His Exellency Javier Gutierrez has paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command (WNC), Commodore Emmanuel Ayesu Kwafo on Thursday 18 April, 2024.

The visit was to officially inform the FOC about the presence of Spanish Navy Ship Furor at the Sekondi Naval Base.

In his remarks, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage adding that the visit would strengthen the mutual relationship between the two countries.

 He noted that maritime security and cooperation between the two countries needed much attention and they looked forward to working with the Ghana Navy in that regard.

Commodore Kwafo stated the preparedness on the part of the Ghana Navy to cooperate and leverage on the expertise of the Spanish Navy in maritime security.

He wished them well for their period of stay within the Command and assured them of his assistance when the need arises.

Part of the Ambassadors entourage were the Deputy Ambassador Diego Spottorno, the Captain of the Ship Jaime Marquez, Operation Officer, Carlos Martinez and Marine Captain Jose Antonio Ruiz.
