The Ghana Armed Forces Public Relations Institute (GAFPRI) in Burma Camp has ended its Basic Journalism Course 1/2024 on Wednesday 10 April, 2024.

The subjects covered include newswriting, editorial, feature writing, photography, media law and ethics, new media, and mass communication for a total number of 35 participants drawn from all the units in GAF.

The Guest of Honour, Director General Department of Public Relations (DPR), Brigadier General Eric Aggrey-Quashie, in his remarks emphasised the significance of military courses for the professional development of Ghana Armed Forces personnel.

He disclosed that participants' proficiency in applying the knowledge gained would significantly impact their performance in assigned tasks within their respective Units.

The Chief Instructor of GAFPRI Warrant Officer Class one (WOI) Atitson Emmanuel, on his part praised the instructors for the success of the course.

Students who distinguished themselves were awarded for their outstanding performance. The overall best student Mr Julius Kweku Doh, received awards in newswriting, feature and editorial writing. Ms Winifred Astwei Laryea and Mr Christopher Neequaye Kotei took the second and third positions on the course respectively.
