The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona has reiterated that he and his staff officers would build on the achievements of the former COAS. He made this attestation, when the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah and his entourage visited to the Army Headquarters on Thursday15 February, 2024. He further congratulated him upon his new rank as Lieutenant General and appointment into the highest office of the Ghana Armed Forces. He also, expressed his deepest appreciation to CDS for the solid team he left behind and assured him of working hard to meet the mandate of the Ghana Army. CDS in his remarks, thanked all for their well wishes and unflinching support since his assumption of office. He elaborated that he was counting on the Staff Officers to continue to accord the COAS the same support they gave him. He further assured them of High Command’s support to make the Ghana Army Successful.
