Spur and Sprockets Association led by its Patron, Colonel (Col) BK Ahlijah (Rtd) has called on the Chief of the Defence Staff at the General Headquarters in Burma Camp on Monday, 19 February 2024.Col Ahlijah (Rtd) stated the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the CDS on his appointment and elevation to the rank of Lieutenant General. He noted that Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah had made history for being the first armour officer to be appointed CDS and promoted to the highest rank in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). He further registered happiness and support for the CDS emphasising the Association takes pride in the achievements. “Your success is a reflection on us”, he added.Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah thanked the Association for the visit and acknowledged their advice, support and prayers contributed to his accomplishment. He recalled the efforts made by their forebears in grooming amour Officers to command at the highest levels of the Armed Forces. The CDS further called for the support and advice of all to enable him and all other commanders at various levels succeed in task of the Ghana Armed Forces.Other members of the delegation were the President of the Association, Brigadier General (Brig Gen AK Adjein (Rtd), Brig Gen DK Frimpong, and Brig Gen CK Richter-Addo (Rtd). Present also were the Commander 15 Amour Brigade, Brig Gen B Gah and Commanding Officer, 153 Amour Regiment, Lt Col DK Korsah.
