The Commandant Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Rear Admiral Eric Adu has paid familiarisation visit to the training schools within Whistler barracks and Burma-Camp from 13-14 February, 2024. The 2-day familiarization visit provided him the opportunity to have first-hand information on the state of infrastructure, office equipment available at the various training schools as well as their challenges.He visited the Clerk Training School, Ghana Armed Forces School of Education, Catering School, Physical Training School and the Engineer Training School. Rear Admiral Adu also visited the School of Ordinance, Music School, Signal Training School, Supply and Transport Mechanical Training School and the Electrical Mechanical Technical Training School.During the visit, Commanding Officers as well as Officers in Charge of the various training schools gave detailed and comprehensive briefings covering operational, administrative and logistics state. They also highlighted some challenges affecting the schools and made projections as well as recommendations. Rear Admiral Adu lauded the Commanding Officers and Officers in Charge of the training schools for their professionalism and dedication to duty. He also urged them to adopt and practice proper maintenance culture in order to prolong the life span of the equipment at their disposal. The visit also enabled Rear Admiral Adu to apprise the schools with his core vision as Commandant TRADOC. The Commandant further urged the schools that have not completed with their promulgation to speed up with the process and submit them to the TRADOC Headquarters for perusal and onward submission to the General Headquarters for consideration and approval. Rear Admiral Adu was accompanied by the Assistant Commandant Tri-Service Schools Brigadier General Lloyd Atror, the Assistant Commandant Research and Doctrine Colonel (Col) Nyanteh and the Chief Coordinator Col Owusu Ansah, Director Materiel Col Boglo, Director Land Doctrine Col Ernest Nyuur, the Gender Policy Advisor Col Osman Zeneidu and the Command Sergeant Major SWO Felix Womakpor.
