RCC 26 CONGRATULATES CDS

Members of Regular Career Course (RCC) 26, on Monday 12 February, 2024, congratulated Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah on his appointment as the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) and subsequent promotion to the next higher rank.

The group led by its secretary, Major General Emmanuel Kotia, delivered the congratulatory message to the CDS at his office in Burma Camp and said the intake takes pride in the appointment of their own as the CDS. He assured the CDS of their loyalty, support and prayers to enable him deliver on the responsibility entrusted him by the President and Commander-In-Chief Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.

He commended the CDS for transforming the Army following the successes chalked in infrastructural development, training, operations and welfare of troops during his tenure as the Chief of the Army Staff, adding that he deserved the appointment.

The CDS, on his part, thanked his intake mates for their well-wishes and the show of support. He further called for teamwork to enable him discharge effectively the responsibilities assigned him. “It is imperative to work together in harmony as an intake and support one another, because it is even in retirement that this sense of brotherliness becomes important” he added.  

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah commended his mates who have also distinguished themselves in various Command roles and endeavors, emphasising that they owed their successes to their forebears for the quality training they received.

He said that through the grace of God and by dint of hard work the intake had produced two Chiefs of Staff, Deputy Chiefs of Staff and Commandants at the highest levels of the Armed Forces, while others have retired into distinguished careers.
