The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, has commissioned three (3) completed projects at the Jungle Warfare School (JWS) on Thursday 22 August 2024, at Akim Achiase in the Eastern Region.

The projects included a 10-unit accommodation for Officers funded by the Ghana Oil Palm Development Company (GOPDC), a newly constructed Guard Room financed by the Bank of Ghana (BOG), and a 300-capacity multipurpose hall funded by Mr Patrick Kwame Danso, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Memphis Metropolitan Limited.

Commissioning the projects, Major General Onwona expressed his delight at the numerous projects in the school up for commissioning and the countless other infrastructural developments being undertaken by stakeholders.

Major General Onwona later inspected some ongoing projects earmarked for future commissioning, mentioning that the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), along with the Government, are doing their best to address infrastructural challenges in the Army Training Schools.

He thanked the Commanding Officer of the school, Lieutenant Colonel Jacob Cudjoe, for his excellent work in ensuring the school met high standards, accommodating more Officers, Soldiers, and Civilian Staff for the efficient operation of the school

On behalf of the GAF High Command, Major General Onwona thanked all the institutions, corporate bodies, and the Chiefs and people of Akim Achiase who supported or funded most of the projects for their benevolence. He advised all ranks to take care of the facilities for the benefit of the JWS and the GAF.
