14 August 2018. The Ghana Military Academy Regular Career Course Intake 32 has donated assorted items to the St Balchita Foundation Orphanage at Teshie-Tebibieno in Accra. The donation was part of activities marking the 26th Anniversary Celebration as officers of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
The items which run into thousands of cedis consisted of 10 Boxes of Voltic bottled water, 6 Bags of rice, 3 Packs of toilet roll, 1 Box of key soap, 1 Sack of detergent, 5 Packs of soft drinks, 6 Boxes of indomie, 1 Pack of Ideal milk, 6 Gallons of frytol oil, 6 Loaves of bread and an undisclosed amount of money were donated to the orphanage by Colonel Dominic Gbedawo on behalf of the RCC Intake 32.
The Intake 32 President, Colonel Gbedawo in his remarks stated the donation was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to enable them give back to society in order to celebrate in their joy as they put smiles on their faces.
He further stated that the donation was an opportunity to make the orphanage known to other philanthropists and encourage others to do same.
In a remark by the caretaker of the orphanage, Miss Portia Lomo, she expressed her sincere gratitude to them and prayed for God’s blessing for the kind gesture. She further encouraged others to emulate same to help in the development of the orphanage.
