8 April 2018. The Association of Regular Intake 19, Short Service Commission (SSC) and Special Duty (SD) 1/77 Commissioned Officers have celebrated its 40th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service at the Arakan Methodist Presbyterian Church on Sunday 8 April, 2018.
The Intake as part of its 40 years celebration held a thanksgiving Service at the Arakan Methodist Presbyterian Church with the theme ‘’Meet the risen Christ’’. In a sermon, the Chaplain Rev (Mrs) Elizabeth Oduro Apenteng urged Christians to remain united and prayerful. She prayed for the Intake for God’s continuous guidance and protection.
The Imam of the Al-Aziz Mosque, Imam Shafudeen who delivered the sermon on behalf of Ambassador Lt Col US Ahmed appealed to all to constantly engage in Charity, establish regular prayer and be patriotic citizens.
The Association of Regular Intake 19 and SSC/SD 1/77 produced 17 Generals. Some of the notable Generals of the Intake include, Air Marshal Sampson Oje (rtd), Former Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Major General Bobson Saagbul (rtd) former Chief of Staff, Major General Opoku Edusei (rtd), former Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Rear Admiral Akoto Bonsu (rtd), former Commandant Ghana Military Academy (GMA), Brig Gen K Oppong Otchere (rtd), National Security Adviser to the President, and Brig Gen Brimah Musah (rtd).
The Intake donated an undisclosed amount of money to the church and later converged at the Arakan Officers Mess where they dinned and wine with their families and loved ones.
