The President and Commander-in-Chief (C-in-C) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), John Dramani Mahama has paid a visit to the injured applicants of the 2025/2026 GAF recruitment at the 37 Military Hospital on Wednesday, 12 November 2025.

The visit followed the tragic stampede which claimed the lives of 6 potential recruits with several others sustaining various degrees of injuries prior to the commencement of the 2025/2026 recruitment exercise at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.

The President interacted with the injured persons at the various wards and wished them a speedy recovery.

President Mahama was accompanied by the Acting Defence Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Deputy Defence Minister, Hon Ernest Brogya Genfi, and the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong.
