EMETTS ENDS BASIC CLASS COURSE III

The Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Technical Training School (EMETTS) in Burma Camp has held a closing ceremony for the Basic Class III, Course 2-25 on Tuesday 2 December 2025.

The six-month course was designed to equip the participants with essential skills in various engineering-oriented trades to support the repair, maintenance, modification and recovery of equipment within the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) operations.

The Guest of Honour, the Chief Coordinator Tri-Service Training School Colonel Frank Gyebi-Abrokwa, commended participants for their commitment, discipline and strong academic performance. He acknowledged the vital role EMETTS plays in producing skilled artisans for repairing and maintaining military equipment.

Colonel Gyebi-Abrokwa, also acknowledged the valuable partnership the school has with the German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG), leading to ongoing support, including sponsoring instructors for mechatronics training in Germany and providing equipment.

He also acknowledged the partnership with Accra Technical University, Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) and the City & Guilds of London, for strengthening training delivery.

The Commanding Officer, EMETTS, Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Essilfie Odoom commended staff and trainees for their dedication and excellent performance. He advised the participants to apply the skills gained in their respective military careers. He mentioned inadequate classroom space, workshops, library, as well as an auditorium as infrastructural challenges facing the school.

The course ended successful with Staff Sergeant Suleimana Ibrahim, emerging as overall best student, while ABII Amevor Dennis Dziedzonu and L/Cpl Lamtey Emmanuel placing second and third respectively.
