24 April 2019. Executives of the Retired Commissioned Officers Association (RCOA), have paid a visit to the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen OB Akwa on Wednesday 24 April 2019 at Burma Camp.
Their visit was to formally introduce themselves to CDS as the newly appointed Executives of the Association and also to express their greatest appreciation to the CDS for the donation of a Pick-Up Vehicle and an unspecified amount of money to support the Association.
President of the Association, Brig Gen Kwame Oppong Kyekyeku (Rtd), in an interaction with CDS recounted their first meeting at the Association’s recent Annual Thanksgivings Service.
CDS, in response, appreciated their visit and commended the Executives for managing the Association with well-organised events conforming to military traditions.
The President further used the opportunity to seek for an engagement with Officers who were yet to retire to discuss the essence of being part of the Association, as its main purpose was to serve retired Officers.
As part of their visit, they were later taken on a tour of the newly commissioned Command Officers’ Mess facility near Burma Camp.
